Sure, we play a lot of established acts on this station. But that's not because we prefer heavyweights. When we are trying to develop a playlist quickly, it can be difficult to search for unknown acts at the same time. There are huge numbers of great established acts we can pull off the top of our heads, so that's where we start with each new playlist.

Once we have a new playlist completed, we search for unsigned/indie acts to replace as much of the establishment playlist as possible. Every few days we cruse Myspace looking for acts to play. This is our main research source for unsigned music. But that takes a LOT of time, and getting bands to respond quickly can be very frustrating (hint!).

Getting Music On Melted Metal

Remember that this is a heavy metal station. We will launch other types of stations later, but this one will remain extremely hard rock. Also keep in mind that we want to play everybody, but we just can't. These are the steps that you should take:

1. Email .mp3's.
   
   (a) We 'like' FOUR .mp3 song files for heavier rotation.
        (We can't pull from sites. Just takes too much time.)
   
   (b) Make sure IDV2/IDV3 info is correct/spell-checked.
        (.mp3's must be min 250kb / Do not zip or compress files)
   
   (c) Email .mp3's to: meltedmetal/at/networknoir/com
        ('One' file to an email/for five mp3's send five emails)
   
   
2. Print, Sign, Fax, Music License Agreement
   
   
3. Help us promote your band:
   
   (a) Email photos you want us to use on this site.
   (b) Make sure we have your site link(s) for the photos.
   (c) Please send this stuff- just no time to look for it.
